TimeUp - Move to Scroll
Terms of Use
The short version
- TimeUp is a voluntary self-discipline tool — not a security feature, not parental control.
- Blocking is neither instant nor foolproof, and you can always switch it off.
- Time credits have no monetary value and expire after 72 hours.
- This is not a medical app: move within your own limits.
Acceptance
By installing TimeUp (“the app”), you accept these terms. If they don't suit you, delete the app.
How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
What the app does
You choose the apps you want to slow down and the rules that earn you screen time. Your health data fills a reservoir of minutes; using the chosen apps drains it. When it's empty, the block comes back.
It's a commitment you make to yourself, and you stay in charge of it.
The limits of blocking
Blocking relies on Apple's Screen Time features, which come with constraints we don't control. Better to say so plainly:
Blocking is neither instant nor foolproof. iOS only notifies us when thresholds set in advance are crossed, and those signals can be delayed or delivered in batches — so overshooting by a few minutes is possible.
Unblocking isn't instant either. After a workout, health data can take a while to come through. That's what the manual refresh button is for.
And the app doesn't try to stop you from working around it: you can revoke the permission, change your rules, or delete everything. That's a design choice, not a flaw — the tool assists you, it doesn't police you.
So don't rely on it as a security measure, or in any situation where a failed block would have serious consequences.
Health and safety
TimeUp is not a medical device and gives no medical or fitness advice. Before any physical activity, especially quick challenges, make sure your health allows it, and stop if you feel pain or discomfort. If in doubt, talk to a healthcare professional.
The figures shown (steps, sleep, exercise minutes, rep counts) are sensor-based estimates. They are approximate.
Your time credits
Earned minutes are an internal unit of the app. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged or transferred, expire 72 hours after being earned, and are lost if your reservoir is already full.
Those rules are part of the game: lost credits are not compensated.
Your responsibility
You choose what you block, and you own the consequences. Avoid blocking an app you might urgently need — work messaging, banking, transport, health. Emergency calls remain available regardless of the app.
You also agree not to decompile the app, redistribute it, or circumvent its protections.
Pricing
The price of the app, and of any features or subscriptions it may offer, is the one shown on its App Store page at the time you download or buy.
We may change that offering in the future. Changes are never retroactive: they don't apply to a purchase already made. Any payment goes through Apple under Apple's terms, so refunds and subscription management are handled by Apple.
Availability and warranties
We do our best to keep the app working, without guaranteeing it is error-free or permanently available. It depends on Apple system features: an iOS update may change how it behaves. We may add, change or remove features.
We can't be held liable for a block happening at the wrong moment, lost credits, a missed notification, or inaccurate health data. These limits don't apply in case of gross fault on our part or personal injury, and they don't take away the statutory warranties consumers have under French law.
Ownership
The app, its code, its design and its name belong to us. You get a personal right to use it, nothing more. The data you produce stays yours.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple: we alone are responsible for the app and its content. Apple provides no support and has no maintenance obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Termination
You can stop at any time by deleting the app: that erases its local data and ends the blocking. On our side, we may end the licence in case of unlawful use of the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
If something goes wrong, write to us first — most situations get sorted that way.
Changes
These terms may change. The version that applies is the one published here, dated at the top of the page. If a change is significant, you'll be told in the app.
